I'm Leaving Now. Seriously. I'm Gone.

This time it's not a joke. Or a false alarm. Some chick named Valerie called from the CIMB Bank and told me they'd be cutting our Inter-ned unless we cough up some cold hard cash by the 22nd of this month. And seeing as how my dad is in hospital with a mucked up spine, the bills are really the last thing anybody is concerned with right now, especially considering that I've been forced to ditch school for a week ( not that I have a problem with that)
But let us not burden you with my problems. This blog, it's a place of yellow, sunny, Gyllenhaal-flavoured fluffy shallowness, and it only befits me to continue in that vein, and make my ancestors proud.

I can't really think of anything to blog about the moment. So. Cheerios, bloggers, until the next time, whenever that is.

Don't give me that look, Jacob. Go comb your hair. You and me, we're blowing this joint.

P.S Well actually I'm kinda still hanging around. My parents are back in the crib and doing, ah, their parental duties, so for now, let's not panic. But still. You'll be really sorry when I eventually find a nice soild reason to really blow this joint. And Jacob nods his agreement.

Minimalism Makes The World Go Round.

I've never done one of these before, so what the heck.

The Google Image Meme

To answer the questions, do a Google image search with your answer, and then choose one picture from the first page of results to post as your response. Do this with minimal explanation if possible. Tag 5 other people when you are done.

1. The age you'll be on your next birthday.

And while we're on the subject, here is a list of things I want for my birthday ,(*cough* October 25) but have already resigned myself to probably never receiving until I'm making my own dough. Darn it.

1. Jake Gyllenhaal
2. Donnie Darko Director's Cut DVD.
3. Ballpens that actually have ink in them.
4. Sigur Ros' Heima DVD
5. A bag that zips.
6. Turqoise nail polish. Coz me funky like dat.
7. And if you can't buy Jake I'll settle for a really really really really big black and white poster that I can stick on my ceiling or something.
8. Midnight's Children by Salman Rushdie. Because I actually do read books.

2. A place you'd like to travel to.

That's Iceland, see? So I can take Sigur Ros hostage and crush them with my will.

3. Your favourite place.

4. Your favourite food.

5. Your favourite pet.

Even though I've only ever had two dogs, and they both died.
No, it was nothing to do with me. They just snuffed it, is all.

6. Your favourite colour combination.

7. Favourite piece of clothing.
The only thing that makes me look even remotely awesome. I should erect a shrine to it or something.

8. All time favourite song.

This question is simply too ridiculously difficult to answer. Therefore I shall just go with the one song I've been listening to about 341 times a day since Saturday night; Gary Jules' hauntingly gorgeous version of Mad World from the Donnie Darko soundtrack.

9. Favourite TV show.
House m.d. Geddit? The only show on television that gets better with age.

10. First name of your significant other/crush.

As if you don't know. Really.
But still. Any excuse to post a picture.

Yes Jake, I know. Your own gorgeousness exhausts you at times. 'Tis a burden indeed, being so beautiful.

11. The town in which you live.

Look! It's the town in which I live! Or a little part of it anyway.

12. Your screenname/nickname.

13. Your first job.

14. Your dream job.

Not being Kirsten Dunst, oh god no. Being the Other Half Of Jake's Soul. Move your ass over, blondie.

15. A bad habit you have.

17. One thing you'd like to do before you die.

Write a book.

18. The first thing you'd buy if you had a million dollars.

I'm in a really pathetic place right now. I own this, and I die happy. The end. And consider yourselves tagged.

The Debate To End All Debatey Debates Of A Most Debate-ish Nature.

Yes, I'm still here. It's not that I'm back after my I'm-Going-To-Obsessively-Stalk-Jake-In-LA mission( how'd you know, Beckeye?), it's just that I never left.
Anyway school was mighty boring today, so I started a little debate, or contest of sorts, in my head, to decide which band would finally and definitely receive the ridiculously honourable honour of being my Favouritest Band In The Universe. There only ever were two competitors, and to help me decide, I will rate each band based on some very important and sensible criteria, so as to put this matter of global bloggerish importance to rest. So. Enough waffling. I get more than the required amount of it from my teachers, in any case. Let's have it.

Coldplay vs Sigur ros
(I'm totally impartial here; the only reason Coldplay comes first is because we're doing this alphabetically)

Album Ownership by the BAP

Coldplay
All but one to date, and mind you, they're all legal. With full jackets. And no lyrics, but that's only because them boyz don't go down lyk dat. They prefer to have us gaze upon black and white shots of themselves.

Sigur ros
One out of five. And that's not even including the Heima DVD. Bummer. At least you people know what to get me for my birthday next month. Eh? Eh?

Winner: Coldplay

Gig Attendance

Coldplay
Never. I was 10 or 11 the last time they came down. And then last year they were in Singapore, the bastards. Do they not know I have no passport? Heck, I'd swim across the Causeway if I'm guaranteed not to get caught.

Sigur ros
Never. Ditto that last sentence.

Wiiner: 'Tis a tie.

Lyrics Appreciation by the BAP

Coldplay
Relatively high. Thank goodness I speak Engrish. They're emo without being overbearingly icky, but when they attempt to be all futuristic and apocalyptic they truly get on my nerves.

Sigur
Ros
Dude. What lyrics?
(I must, however, add that I know pretty much every Sigur ros song phonetically, even if I haven't a diddley-doo about what it means)

Winner: I'll make this a tie as well. It's not fair on the Icelanders. They never liked lyrics anyway.

Loved by the BAP Since..
Coldplay
2003 -age 13

Sigur ros
2005/06 - age 16-ish

Winner: So I've loved Coldplay longer. But to be fair I didn't find out about Sigur ros until-oh well. Coldplay wins! All hail!

Comparisons between Band Members

Chris Martin (Coldplay)
The Jesus of Uncool, he's not afraid to cry, he names his kids after fruit and he's totally into keeping his private life private and all that. I do find it slightly annoying when he keeps grabbing his right wrist with his left hand. Like, what's the deal, Chris? All in all he seems like a pretty nice guy, and if he does stroke his ego a bit much once in a while, I guess you could say he's entitled to it.

Jonsi Birgisson (Sigur ros)
Quite seriously my pick for the most gorgeous voice of any male or female in existence, or who ever lived, or will ever live. And have you ever heard the guy giggling? Goodness, you'll feel like picking him up and hugging him so hard that his skull cracks open. Also, he's blind in one eye. I still don't know why that makes him awesomer, but it just does. It's like the Musician's Thom Yorke Wonky Eye Effect, or something.

Jonny Buckland ( Coldplay)
This man is just the sweetest thing . His absolute sickening niceness just oozes out of every pore and guitar string. And it's so cute that he wears a baseball cap all the time, now that he's balding. I don't know. Jonny simply is synonymous with LOVE.

Kjartan Sveinsson ( Sigur ros)

So this dude makes all the musical arrangements for the band, especially strings and keyboards and stuff, and that practically makes him God. God, you hear?? He also never shaves and never smiles, which gives him an air of mucho bad-assness.

Georg Holm ( Sigur ros)

He catches fish with his teeth.
That's it. That's it. I should just give it to Sigur ros right now, dammit!

Guy Berryman ( Coldplay)
He's Scottish, which means he should have an utterly sexalicious accent, but we're not quite sure whether or not Guy is quite capable of basic speech functions. He is, however, very very hot. Goon on ya, Guy.

Will Champion (Coldplay)
Has the least hair of all the dudes we are comparing here today.
Sorry Will. You still rule though.

Orri Pall Dyrason (Sigur ros)

He is killer. He can make a xylophone with random rocks lying around and his freakin' bare hands. And in case you're wondering, no, I did not need to Google his name to find out how to spell it. Such is my awesomeness.

Interviews/Media Interaction

Coldplay
Very much excellent. Too excellent, sometimes.

Sigur ros
These guys on the other hand, are responsible for what even the most die hard fans refer to as the worst interview in the history of electronic media.

Sigur ros on NPR's Bryant Park Project

I'm warning you. It's painful.

Official Websites

Coldplay

Sigur ros

Sigur ros' is much easier to navigate and has, well, more stuff on it.

Country of Origin

Coldplay
Ye Olde England, land of fish and chips and Prince William. Yum.

Sigur ros

Iceland.

Ooooh that's a winning shot, that is!

Significant Others
Coldplay

Sigur ros

See? They don't need gorgeous Hollywood types. They just love each other.

Who Looks Awesomer In Pictures?

Coldplay

That's right boys. Think cool thoughts. You'll get there.

Sigur ros

We avoid all contact with the camera because we are that shy. Really.

Aaaaaaaand after much intelligent analysis and very careful consideration, I can now safely conclude that my absolute and undeniably favouritest band of all eternity is - oh look mini red apples!

Look, I don't know about you, but I stopped keeping score a long time ago. It's impossible to pick.
Go away and be productive.
